Privacy Policy
This explains what we collect when you use arlingtonhardware.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We are a hardware store, not a data business. We collect what we need to take your order and answer your questions, and nothing beyond that.
Who we are

What we collect when you shop
To process an order we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and what you bought. You need to give us these to complete a purchase.
We never see your full card number. Card details are entered on the payment processor's secure form and handled by them. We receive only a confirmation, the last four digits, and the card type.
We keep order records because we are required to for tax and accounting, and because it lets us help you with a return later.
What we collect when you create an account
An account stores your email address, password (hashed, so we cannot read it), saved addresses, order history, and any products you have saved to your favorites. You can ask us to delete an account at any time.
What we collect when you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, and message. We use that to reply to you and we keep the correspondence so we have context if you write again. If you sign up for store news, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe, and every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission came from a person rather than a bot. Turnstile receives your IP address and basic signals about your browser to make that judgment. It does not track you across other websites.
Cookies and how the site remembers you
We use cookies for the things a shop needs to work:
- Cart and checkout. Keeps your basket intact as you move between pages.
- Login sessions. Keeps you signed in to your account.
- Preferences. Remembers small choices so the site behaves consistently.
These are necessary for the store to function. Blocking them in your browser will break the cart.
Analytics
We do not currently run third party analytics, advertising pixels, or cross site trackers on this site. No Google Analytics, no social media pixels, no data brokers.
Our web server keeps standard access logs, which record IP addresses, timestamps, requested pages, and browser type. We use those for security and for diagnosing problems, and they are rotated on a schedule rather than kept indefinitely.
If we add analytics later, we will say so here before turning it on.
Who else touches your information
We share only what is needed to run the business:
- Payment processor. Handles your card and screens for fraud.
- USPS. Receives the name and address on the shipping label.
- Our web host. Stores the site and its database.
- Email provider. Delivers order confirmations and replies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
We will disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the safety of others.
How long we keep things
Order and tax records are kept as long as the law requires. Account details stay until you ask us to remove them. Contact form messages are kept while they are useful for support. Server logs are rotated regularly.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from store news at any time. You can control cookies through your browser, keeping in mind the cart depends on them. Email [email protected] and we will take care of it.
Deleting an account does not erase order records we are legally required to retain.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Passwords are stored hashed. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we will update this page and change the review date below.
