Accessibility Statement
We want everyone to be able to shop with us, whether you are browsing on a phone in the aisle or using a screen reader at home. This page explains where our website stands on accessibility, what we have done about it, and how to reach a person if something gets in your way.
What we aim for
We work to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Our site substantially conforms to it. We say substantially rather than fully because parts of the site rely on third party components, such as the embedded map and the checkout, and we do not control their code. Everything we do control has been tested and corrected.
What we have done
- Every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text, so screen readers can describe our products rather than reading out a filename.
- All form fields have proper labels, including the newsletter signup and the contact form.
- Text meets or exceeds the required contrast against its background across the site.
- The whole site can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline that shows where you are.
- A "Skip to main content" link appears when you press Tab, so keyboard users do not have to move through the entire menu on every page.
- Page structure uses proper headings and landmark regions, so assistive technology can jump straight to the navigation, the main content, or the footer.
- Icon only buttons and links, like the cart and the favorites heart, announce what they do.
- Animation is reduced automatically if your device is set to prefer reduced motion.
- Form fields fill in correctly with saved details through browser autofill.
How we tested
We ran automated testing with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA across every page type on the site, including the shop, category listings, individual products, the cart, the account area, and every content page. We also checked the site by keyboard and reviewed colour contrast by measurement rather than by eye.
Automated tools catch a good share of problems but not all of them. If something is awkward to use and no tool has flagged it, we would still like to hear about it.
Known limitations
A few areas are worth naming plainly:
- The embedded map on our contact page is provided by Google. We have labelled it, but its internal controls are theirs. Our address and phone number are written out as text on the same page, so you never need the map to find or call us.
- Checkout is handled by WooCommerce and our payment processor. We keep it current, but parts of that flow are outside our code.
- Older product photos carried over from our previous site vary in quality. Their descriptions are accurate, and we are steadily replacing the images.
If something does not work for you

Keeping this current
Accessibility is not a one time job. We check the site again whenever we make significant changes, and we update this page when the picture changes.
